  • VRay for Sketchup Errors – Unable to Render anything!

I have been working with Vray for Sketchup for a while and it has been working fine, however just recently it has started throwing a 'We have encountered error(s) while trying to render. Please check the error log for more details.' message.

This happens even with a blank scene, so it's not the model size. I have no idea where to find the error log (I tried finding it using something I found on another site, but there wasn't any error log in that location).

Really not sure what is happening. Help would be appreciated.

I am using Sketchup 8.0.11751 with VRay 1.49.01 on an iMac with 12GB of RAM (in case any of that matters).

And to clarify, I have tried reinstalling both programs and that did not seem to help.

Have you contacted our support department yet? vraysketchup@chaosgroup.com

My guess is that there is some sort of issue with permissions. If this started happening all of a sudden, without you installing any additional plugins, or modifying anything, then it's probably just a permissions issue. You can repair permissions with Disk Utility: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1452

I have fixed the permissions, but the problem persists. I'll contact support. I just wondered if anyone else had dealt with this before.

perhaps try to render it by overriding the materials. my guess is texture link

How do I go about doing that? I've never tried to override the textures. That being said, I have tried to render with an entirely blank scene as well, but I guess there is the standard background texture still.

Let me know how I do it and I'll give it a go.

            Thanks!

Usually when you have this kind of issue is due a corrupted material or textures. So if you are able to make the render by overriding all the material, then the issue for sure is a texture inside one material. To override the materials go to the Global Switches and enable "Override Materials" option. V-Ray will override all the material using one color.

Unfortunately, that didn't fix it either. Still having the problem, even with 'override materials' on.

I finally found the error log. Here is what it says:
